dcterms.abstractThe objective of this research is to study the impact of office environments, both physical and psychological factors, on employee's attitude and behaviors for organizations in Hong Kong. A questionnaire survey was conducted in the summer of 1998. 155 part-time evening students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University who were employed during daytime were invited to fill in the questionnaire. The results showed that both physical and psychological factors of the office environments had strong relationship with the total job satisfaction. Among the physical factors, the three factors with highest correlation with the total job satisfaction were air temperature & indoor air quality, safety & hazard, and noise level respectively. The results of the study also showed that both physical and psychological factors did not have significant correlation with the attendance of the employees.en_US
