Abstract: Since modern people spend most of their time indoors, indoor air quality has become a major concern for human health and has been of wide interest. In this study, ANSYS FLUENT simulation software will be used to numerically simulate an air-conditioned office room with upward air supply and return, using carbon dioxide as an indicator to represent the indoor air quality. The turbulence model used is the standard k-ε model, which can get accurate results efficiently. The simulation is designed to obtain the distribution of indoor carbon dioxide concentration in different cases by simulating four cases with different air supply air distribution, in order to improve the indoor air quality and thus the health condition and work efficiency of office workers. The simulation results show that in case 4, the average indoor CO2 concentration is the lowest, and the CO2 concentration near the office workers and around the work area is also relatively lowest, showing the best air quality. Finally, this study gives recommendations for air supply vent placement in office buildings and emphasizes the importance of improving air quality in public buildings.
