Elements for successful implementation of partnering in the Hong Kong constructionen_US
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the awareness of "Partnering" among various construction disciplines and the development of "Partnering" in the Hong Kong Construction Industry. In addition, it seeks for the major elements to implement this approach. A series of working guidelines is enabling Project Managers to approach "Partnering" with greater confidence. The paper includes the research study through a questionnaire survey, which allows comparisons of their perceptions for a successful partnering system among the different management members and to compare the opinions of participants whose had or not had experienced in partnering. Finally, the survey results show that the approach is still infancy. Partnering is rapidly gaining acceptance as an effective method to reduce project disputes and commitment of resources associated with an adversarial dispute resolution process. Besides, a series of guidelines are recommended for the implementation of the partnering approach in the construction industry.en_US
