Abstract: Based on existing theoretical and empirical studies of entrepreneurial competencies, organizational competencies and environmental analysis, this dissertation intends to build a theoretical model to identify the determinants that contribute to the success and continuity of Hong Kong enterprise under the changing reform environment of China mainland started from 1980's. This thesis explores whether firms in the turbulent, transition economy of China can develop competencies that can then translate into growth in sales and profits.
