Managing the implementation of quality assurance of ISO 9000 to the building services contracts company in Hong Kongen_US
Analogue Technical Agencies Limited (ATAL) is going to implement a Quality Management System (ISO 9000) programme on a corporate level. This study is to analyse the reactions of the different level staff towards this programme so as to identify the appropriate strategies and approaches in managing the system. Survey findings were obtained by interviewing a sample of different levels of staff. By contrasting the opinions with the principles obtained from literatures, the possible forces acting for and against the programme were identified. After that, appropriate strategies about how to manage the programme were formulated. Based on the analysis, the resistance forces against the programme are mainly due to inadequate information, culture, and worry about the programme that may creat more workload and responsibilities for them. The possible actions for managing the forces effectively include education, training, communication, management supports, team work and participaition in decision. In general, a caution strategy should be formulated to manage the implementation of quality management system (ISO 9000) programme at the early stage. After that, the management should adopt a quick respond strategy to monitor the system because of time constraint for the programme issue.en_US
