Abstract: The travel agent industry has been undergoing profound revolution as the E-commerce is developing. An E-commerce business model for travel agency in China becomes a decisive factor in the sector. The choice of E-commerce business model determines the success of E-commerce for travel agencies in China. This thesis focuses on building up an E-Commerce business model for travel agencies in China. The literature of tourism E-commerce was reviewed. This thesis adopted the case study and in-depth interview approaches. Five cases of ctrip, China-sss, eztravel, mangocity and byecity were analyzed from five aspects viz customer value, users' coverage, revenue sources, operations and core competence. By interviewing with key persons from ctrip, China-sss, eztravel and research institutes, this thesis put forward five basic components of E-commerce business model for travel agencies in China including customer value, users' coverage, revenue sources, operations and core competence. Other factors were analyzed including business strategy, organization structure, management system, company culture, core competence and technology, which influence the operations of E-commerce business model for travel agencies in China.
