Design and analysis of a digital controller for an electromagnetic suspension systemen_US
This report presents the application of modern control theory in designing and analyzing a digital controller for an Electromagnetic Suspension System. In this project, a linear-time-invariant discrete-time model of the suspension system is developed, and a detailed stability analysis has been performed on the suspension system. This reveals that certain compensation has to be introduced into the system. Then, state-space and observer design approaches are applied for feedback compensation. An optimal control technique has been investigated, and simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the technique. The choice of the performance index has also been investigated. The result indicates that the different performance indices would introduce different effects to the system behavior.en_US
