dcterms.abstractThis research is to explore the situation of IT outsourcing in Hong Kong's banking Industry. Today, outsourcing is one of the most rapidly growing industries it gives an organization the flexibility required in a quickly changing global economy. It also allows an organization to focus on its core competencies in highly competitive marketplace. Hong Kong adopts the IT outsourcing in recent years and only applies to certain industries. Banking is one of the industry will be actively using IT outsourcing to achieve the strategic objectives such as the information system improvement, better business result and create new business opportunity. This research study would further investigate the strategic intent for IT outsourcing within the banking environment. Also, the risk and characteristic of IT outsourcing will be studied. The methodology of this research study is conducted using the survey to collect related data. Questionnaires are sent out to the targeted companies by postal. The targeted companies will be limited to a small sample size. The result would be interpreted and analyzed to reflect the current situation of using IT outsourcing in banking industry.en_US
