dc.titleLean thinking in Nokia : an application of lean principles in supply chainen_US
dcterms.abstractThe purpose of this thesis is to examine to what extent does Nokia apply lean thinking in its supply chain. The case study is carried out through analysis of how do different Nokia projects comply to lean theories laid down by Taiichi Ohno, James Womack and Richard Lammings. Information is collected by informal discussion with project owners and people who have participated in the planning and implementation process, looking for the company meeting agenda, minutes, training materials, intranet, internet, and adding my own observation. The study identifies primary goals of Nokia projects are not aiming at lean, but the results comply to lean theories. Recommendations for future implementation on lean were suggested and conclusion made at the end of the study.
