| dcterms.abstract | The objective of this report is to study how successfully the business processes for benefit/expense claims have been reengineered by using digital certificate technology. As network security for processing payment electronically is the major concern of the staff members in PolyU for transaction via open network. The Office of Information Technology Services has recommended that all departments should have its own procedures and guidelines at departmental level for a better security control, To ensure the administration for PolyU digital certificate is under control, Human Resources Office and Office of Information Technology Services are both responsible for the certificate management in PolyU. The research for this report is conducted through distributing questionnaires by internal mail to various academic/administrative and self-finance centers. According to the findings from the survey, the use of digital certificate technology with business process change for benefit/expense claims is a success. Respondents received their payment claims within 10 working days. As user participation in the system usage of the benefit/expense claims is quite low after one year, further enhancements to increase the usability of web-based system have also been recommended in the report. | en_US |
