dcterms.abstract | The potential benefits of the use of expert system technology within the personnel function in terms of improved decision quality is still not widely appreciated in educational institutions. This research relates the author's initial efforts to apply expert system technology to personnel pre-selection problems in an educational institution the author is working. The object of this research is to explore the feasibility of use of ES as a viable approach to improve the management decision quality, and to assess the possible impact that ES can bring about to the College. Major activities of the project include: - an in-depth study of the underlying principles of personnel pre-selection, and the underlying concepts of the knowledge architectures and structures; - the building of a feasibility prototype; and - the prototype validation and user evaluation. | en_US |
