Abstract: In the nowadays, with the development of the entire IT industry, the performance of hardware became stronger and stronger, especially in embedded field. Observe the embedded field, the mobile part is always with high increase users, so both the hardware and software corporations are spend lots of top developers on this. The embedded field has already become a top one in the entire IT industry. GIS also known as Geographic Information Systems, is a computer-based emerging technologies. Research on this technology, development and application of the formation of a cross-cutting edge of science, the study of spatial data management and the technical system, Computer software and hardware support, it can spatial data by geographical location or spatial coordinates various processing, the data effective management, and study of space and the relationship between entities. The Embedded GIS is considered as the compound of the two fields and great numbers of applications are in using now. After observe the some application details, in this thesis, the whole Embedded GIS major technique would be analysis and summarized. On the other hand, in connection with some Embedded GIS develop modes and their disadvantage, the thesis give some analyses. Finally, with the suitable develop mode of Embedded GIS which has compared as a suitable one, an individual mode Embedded GIS application will implement on PocketPC2003. The detail of development and the demonstration for the implementation will be represented.
