| dcterms.abstract | This dissertation aims to propose a possible success model for offshore development center who would like to reduce its project management cost and to develop a prototype to demonstrate how the proposed model works. At the beginning of the dissertation, we discuss the drivers for setting up offshore development center and the benefits brought to these multinational corporations by sending their development arrangement to offshore center. Subsequently, we start by learning the existing offshore outsourcing center experiences, and we explore the issues and challenges encountered during offshore outsourcing project management processes such as project management cost will increase as the number of projects increases. So this is an inevitable problem and that is how to reduce the costs and optimize management process. After that, with reference to literature, we check if there is similar system being developed for the purpose, and we propose a model for offshore outsourcing business. To demonstrate how the proposed model works, we will develop a prototype, which consists of several components about work flow. We collect actual data from Microsoft China offshore outsourcing center, and the prototype later verified and refined through these real data. During the prototype evaluation, we sent out questionnaires to related department, and the result would be analyzed to reflect the prototype's effect, and promote the prototype according to feed back. Finally, we show further research directions about offshore development centre project management workflow system. In conclusion, our proposed model could improve management efficiency and save management costs for offshore development centre. | en_US |
