Abstract: The popularity of internet and maturity of E-Commerce encourage many people to use the internet for running their business. Nowadays, having one's own business is not a dream to many people. It is real to many of them. They can use an online ordering system to do all kinds of business. Customers can easily place an order and pay the money online. An effective online ordering system would make businessmen profitable and customers' lives easier. This dissertation is to develop an online ordering system which can provide a platform for businessmen to run their business online and also provide a safe, reliable and comfortable platform for the public to shop online. The system supports multi-language and multi-currency for different people in the world. The system also has a search engine and a product category sidebar menu for users to search products easily. Detailed product information is given to users. Shopping cart is provided for users to store their products before checkout. Users can also pay their products online at the checkout and their products would be shipped to them later. The system has a control panel for the administrator to manage the system such as members, product categories, products, currencies and orders etc. Members can also manage their personal account and view their orders in the control panel. Data collected in the database can be used in data mining to help a company run their business more successfully.
