This research aims to discuss the potential development of China's indigenous hotel chain from both academic and practical perspectives. The factors of influencing the development of China's indigenous hotel chain was proposed based on the research background and literature review. The in-depth interview was adopted for this research. In-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 10 general managers in China's indigenous individual hotels and 3 senior executives in China's indigenous hotel management companies. Secondary data were combined with the interview results to analyze the factors of influencing the development of China's indigenous hotel chain. Four factors for accelerating the development of China's indigenous hotel chain were identified which including political and economical environment, market, managerial ability & resources and comparative advantages. China's stable political environment and rapid development of economy create healthy external environment, whereas external factors such as the entry to WTO, further opening to the world and intense competition force China's indigenous hotel industry to look for a way of development by chain. The growing in-bound visitors, flourishing vacation economy and weekend tour greatly stimulate China's hotel market and become one of the potential to develop China's indigenous hotel chain. In addition, the increase of residents' income and holiday days help to develop the outbound market. With the increase of china's outbound tourists, a hotel brand could be established by China's indigenous hotel industry for overseas Chinese and outbound Chinese tourists. This research pointed out that the trends of grouplization of China's hotel industry not only establish a foundation for the development of China's hotel chain but also accumulate the experience for further development with suitable methods. China's hotel management company currently stepped into a new stage of getting rid of the stale and bringing forth the fresh from the stages of copy and absorbing overseas advanced management. The accumulating management experience and more and more mature managers are the potentials for human resources development when developing China's hotel chain. Finally, compared with the International hotel chains, China's hotel chain boasts advantages such as good understanding of China's special commercial and political environment, which also become the force to push the further development of China's hotel chain.en_US
