Software components for electronic commerce using smart appliancesen_US
Growth in the use of the Internet and mobile network is rapidly spurring interest in Electronic Commerce. The rising number of e-business transactions and increasing transaction values make security a top priority. At a result, integration of secure tokens like smart appliances into e-business applications becomes more and more important. Smart appliances like smart cards can be used to assure security in a lot of e-business scenarios. But most of the current smart cards applications are proprietary solution. This means that they are tightly bound to the smart card reader, smart card OS/API and vendor applications. Different smart card applications are not interoperable with each other and make maintenance and migration very difficult. Due to these shortcomings, some industry leaders try to bring object oriented development framework for smart card application and establish open standards. This paper provides a set of software components for smart appliance application development based on the latest industry open standard. Besides, a prototype is being developed based on these components in order to show the applicability.en_US
