Abstract: The student residential satisfaction has drawn more and more public attention all around the world, especially in the developing counties. However, people know little information about the student residential satisfaction actually, what parameters influence the student residential satisfaction, and how does the parameters affect the satisfaction. This study focuses on the performance of the facilities which in the student hostel, and how does the facilities in the student hostel affect the student residential satisfaction. In this study, the data is collected through 2 main methods, one is questionnaire survey, the other is interview with the stuff of student hostel. And the main data analyzed software is SPSS, which is a common professional statics method. There are 40 factors that may influence the student residential satisfaction are analyzed. The factors which have significant influence on the student residential satisfaction are confirmed after Principal Component Analysis (PCA). There are 5 main factors which would predict the student residential satisfaction, According to the result of PCA, the management factor would predict the student residential satisfaction in this study, they are application for accommodation in hostel, specifications on withdrawal from hostel and refund of hostel fee, discipline regulations for hostel students, the entrance regulations, security regulation, handing of request from students and communication with students, which explain 33.31% among all the variables. This study aims to investigate the student residential satisfaction level in Hong Kong, according to the pilot study, the overall satisfaction get a mean score 3.916, which close to 4, it reveals that the respondents are satisfied with the hostel overall. The factors are divided into two groups, one is about the functional factors, the other is about the management factors, and their means scores are 3.698 and 3.441 respectively. Totally the functional factors get much higher score than the management factors, it indicates that the respondents appear more satisfaction on the functional factors. There are 43 functional factors and 19 management factors which are analyzed, different factor get different score, the factors which get lower score would pay more attention to improve.
