dcterms.abstractBuilding on and extending the classical and contemporary theories of withdrawal cognition literature, this study investigates the unique situation of Hong Kong employees turnover process. This study also tries to integrate the different literature on the subjects of repatriates and expatriates adjustment which are similar to the experience of returnees and the literature of social network and environment uncertainty. Based on a sample of 183 employees from various sources, this study examines specifically the relationships of work and non-work factors with job satisfaction and organizational commitment and finally the withdrawal cognition. The results indicate that job satisfaction and organizational commitment are direct predictors of withdrawal cognition. Also supported by the results are certain work and non-work related factors exhibited significant relationships with job satisfaction and organization commitment respectively. Several theoretical and practical implications of these results are then discussed.en_US
