dcterms.abstractThis paper presents the application of a knowledge-based decision support system to assist users to identify and evaluate all decision variables/risks; compress time for approval; and improve the quality of investment decision at reasonable cost. A prototype is developed in accordance with the theories of fundamental and technical analysis of stock investment. Indeed, the main objective of the system is to improve the processes of the Funds Management of Hong Kong Housing Authority in order to facilitate management in making decision on the day-to-day investment activities, to reduce the time and manual effort in the whole processes and to increase the investment yield is inevitable. Furthermore, it is expected to improve the chances of widely diversification of the financial instruments through the use of Decision Support System. The evaluation of the prototype shows positively the improvement of the rate of return on the fund management.en_US
