dcterms.abstractFinite element model of a steel plane frame structure using a tool called MSSA (Multivariate Singular Spectral Analysis) is studied in this report. A finite element model of the structure is prepared in the software MATLAB. With MATLAB, dynamic response analysis is performed with the model of the structure to investigate the use of MSSA to check on the damage information in the responses. The MATLAB codes based on the finite element model (FEM) are written to do the simulation analysis of the structure. With the collected responses of both intact and damaged structure, the reconstruction time series of the frame in different damaged states using MSSA can be identified and utilized. By comparing the difference of reconstruction series before and after damage, the effect of local damages on the dynamic responses of structure can be investigated.en_US
