Abstract: The accelerating of serious environmental pollution and energy crisis, environmental management and developing new energy has become common concern of all mankind and urgent problems. At a low annealing temperature by combining a post-heat treatment with a traditional hydrothermal approach, Ribbon-like orthorhombic NaNbO₃ fibers can be prepared successfully. It is found that the fiber structure of the final NaNbO₃ can be improved by the magnetic stirring in the hydrothermal reaction process. In addition, we also investigated the product's crystallinity and morphology under different post-heat treatment effects. The post-heat treatment time is prolonged with 6 hours at a low temperature of 300 Celsius degree, and the NaNbO₃ fibers with few cracks and defects with predominant oriented growth at (020) and (101) would be promoted. With an aqueous methanol solution of H₂ evolution, we also evaluated the fiber's photocatalytic activity. When comparing with the sample under the post-heat treatment condition with 300 Celsius degree at 6 hours, the sample under 600 Celsius degree at 2 hours showed higher photocatalytic activity. In the 1st example, we investigated the H₂ evolution efficiency by NaNbO₃ fibers by applying different types of sacrificial reagents.
