Abstract: Studying the behavior of selecting hotel has a long tradition in hospitality research. In the china the business traveler's market expanding is very fast, meanwhile the hotel industry still facing fierce competition from some reasons. In order to fully capture this market, it is important to better understand business traveler's hotel selection criteria, and help further establish and change suitable strategies to maintain and attract more business travelers. The aim of the study is threefold: 1) To know the basic behavior of Chinese business travelers; 2) To identify what is most attribute when they select hotel; 3) To identify correlation between selecting hotel behavior and traveler's socio-demographic characteristics. 43 attributes were examined in a sample of business travelers (N=308) who had stayed in Guang Zhou hotels for business traveler. The finding indicated that cleanness of the hotel; safety and security; friendly service of hotel staff; comfortable mattress and pillows, good quality bath and wash towels, low price are most important attributes when the business travelers select hotels. These hotel service attributes are further categorized into ten factors. The study revealed that there were many significant differences between traveler's socio-demographic characteristics. Implication of findings for hotel operators in hotel industry was discussed.
