Abstract: This thesis presents an innovative methodology for the logisticians in formulating customer based strategic and operations plans within a complicated supply chain network. The proposed methodology is able to capture the amount of logistics information required to describe the variety and uncertainty of the supply chain network, contrasting to other usual performance measures such as lead time, inventory level and throughput. Furthermore, through collecting this information, an appropriate organizational knowledge is retrieved in order to support the logisticians for developing different operational and strategic method efficiently. An Intelligent Knowledge-based Logistics Performance Management System is introduced. It is an intelligent system using different Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and web based technology to logisticians in formulating a list of strategic and operational plan so as to streamline the logistics workflow. In additions, the embedding web based technology of the proposed system can enable the logisticians to bridge different supply chain members like suppliers, customers, subcontracted agents, government departments, and financial institutions to facilitate the logistics information/knowledge sharing and collection.
