Abstract: This paper examines transnational business running in Hong Kong and China locations with a view to identifying distinctive flexible factors of competitive business system. Buckley and Casson (1998) suggested that flexible firms deal with three levels of flexibility - external flexibility, flexible boundaries, and flexibility in internal organization. Based on Buckley's model, an exploratory case study is conducted to identify the operational relationship of flexible competitive business system. And finally, a descriptive framework about Embedded Assets Theory of the Firm is proposed for future research.
