Abstract: In this project, the productivity among a small group of blue-collar workers of the Hong Kong & China Gas Company Limited will be studied. As productivity is of increasingly importance to all ongoing organizations, managers will strive to achieve optimum levels of productivity by using different management tools to attain higher level of productivity. An in-depth studies regarding the productivity will be carried out in conjunction with the technical and human factors which are envisaged to affect the constructs of productivity in this project. The literature review will concentrate on productivity and its related factors. Then, the history and culture of an oldest gas supplying company, the Hong Kong & China Gas Company Limited (HKCG), will be discussed. Special attention will be focused on the Distribution Sections of this Company. Moreover, a small survey will be used in this project. Thus, the methodology will adopt a self-administered questionnaires which is replicated from an empirical research by Lee and Ho (1989) of Baptist College which is involving a survey to verify the availability of this project. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations will be given to emphasize the methods for improving the quality of work life (QWL) and new technology shift.
