dc.title | The performance characteristics of grouted macadam based on sulphoaluminate cement (SAC) | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | Grouted macadam (GM), known as semi-flexible pavement, is an asphalt-concrete composite material combined by porous asphalt skeleton and cement. The porous asphalt skeleton is made firstly, and then cement slurry with high fluidity is grouted to fill the voids. Due to the interlocking effect between these two materials, GM possesses high bearing and deformation capacity. In this study, a new grout's formula was established by using sulphoaluminate cement (SAC). SAC is a rapid hardening cement, which possesses fast setting time and high early age strength. Owing to the good workability of SAC, the performance of GM is greatly improved. After grouting, the porosity of GM ranges from 1% to 4%, and the 1-day compressive strength of this GM is 13.9MPa, which is quite higher than the value in previous research. Indirect tensile stiffness modulus test (ITSM) is used to characterize the rigidity of GM, and the stiffness modulus is 9761Mpa for 28-days curing, which is nearly 2-4 times the value of HMA. At the same time, hamburg wheel tracking test and indirect tensile fatigue test (ITFT) are conducted as well, the good results indicate that GM based on SAC has high capacity on the resistance of rutting and fatigue cracking. | en_US |
