Abstract: With the explosive growth of technology, like online social networking platforms and video sharing platforms such as YouTube, people are now much motivated to record and share their lives through videos and images. Also, with the great influence of video and animation marketing, both artistic and photorealistic video generation have become more popular and have received extensive attention upon the success of image reconstruction technology and image style transfer technology in real-life applications. Motivated by the future of video reconstruction applications, and the applications of artistic and photorealistic style transfer algorithms, the goal of this research is to compare and analyze the usage of image style transfer algorithms for video generation applications. Variants of interesting artistic and photorealistic image style transfer algorithms and approaches have been implemented, and different experiments on static images as well as videos have been conducted. Evaluations have been with respect to the use of both artistic and photorealistic image transfer algorithms in video or animation style transfer applications. This research is applying both artistic and photorealistic image style transfer to artistic animation videos, and applying photorealistic image style transfer for swapping two similar videos and for the evaluation of the visual results, and it found that the photorealistic style transfer is suitable for video style transfer, and that optimization for photorealistic image style transfer is needed for further study.
