Perception of pre-training motivation in an air-express companyen_US
Data from a survey of 214 employees in an air-express company were used to provide a field test of the role of pre-training motivation within the framework of motivation theory. A measure of pre-training motivation was employed to examine their relations with transfer of training. Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify determinants, consequences of the perception and its role as a mediator. The result indicated that only the determinant (training reputation) had significant impact on pre-training motivation but not organizational commitment, job involvement, supervisor support and tasks constraints. In addition, only pre-training motivation, training reputation and supervisor support were positively related to transfer of training. Finally, pre-training motivation was found positively related to transfer of training.en_US
