| Abstract: | This article studies the critical factors that leading to the success of fashion retail company in Hong Kong. Over the past years, there are many studies on the competitive advantages and influence of entrepreneurial competency, organisational capability and environmental variable on firm performance. There are a few studies target on the fashion retail industry. This article firstly reviews the literature on measurement of success, entrepreneurial competency, organisational capability, resources based theory and environmental influence. It then uses case study approach to analyse whether the entrepreneurial competency, organisational capability and environmental variable lead to success of the firm or not. Based on the interviews with middle manager from five fashion retail companies, it concludes the most successful fashion retail company have a high entrepreneurial competency, organisational capability and can be successful even under the hostile and dynamic environment. |
