dc.title | A study on transient demand flow rates of water supply system in a university students' dormitory in Hong Kong | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | At present, a problem of overlarge design flow estimation is common in water supply design. In order to solve this problem, a method to simulate the water demand of student dormitory is developed based on the time series model of transient flow rate. By processing the data obtained from relevant questionnaires, this method simulated the water usage pattern of students, and compared the simulated water demand value with the field measurement results. In this study, the simulated curve showed a high consistency with the trend of the actual water demand curve, especially for water supply pipelines provided to a large number of users. In view of the large difference between the two curves at the peak value, Bayesian method is adopted to modify the simulation results and effectively reduce the gap between the simulated value and the measured value. This method could provide daily water demand for water tank inventory design of student dormitory in the future. | en_US |
