Abstract: In this project, I will use software simulation methods to explore the effects of fires caused by different fuels under different conditions on walls built of different materials, and determine whether the existing walls of nuclear power plants are adequate to withstand large enough fires. The fire behavior and the data collected from this study are significant to make suggestion in future improvements on the strength of concrete used in nuclear containment structures in order to prevent from leakage of radioactive substances which are harmful to natural environment.
