dcterms.abstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate students' commitment to work in tourism, hotel and catering industry after they graduated. Specifically to look at the different year of study, specialism of study, and level of their interest changes. The research is based on a questionnaire administered to analyse The Hong Kong Polytechnic University fulltime students. The result reveals that less exposure to the industry student support positive attitude while more exposure to industry tend to negative side. In addition, the result reveals that male, younger, bachelor degree, tourism, and lower years students show more positive attitudes; while female, older student, higher diploma, hotel and catering, and upper year students tend to more negative attitudes. Also, it is discovered that change of commitment and interest are declined by year of study. This research suggests the issues related to the negative commitment in industry.en_US
