dc.title | Sensitivity analysis in energy use of a new hotel building for building environment assessment | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | Building, as one of the most integral components in a metropolis, is the major culprit of global warming throughout its lifecycle, no matter before its construction, operation, maintenance or disposal stage. Along with the arousing concerns over global warming, many countries have developed their local rating systems on assessing the sustainability of buildings, aim at encouraging the industry to develop buildings in a more sustainable manner. Among the 600 Green Building Rating Systems (GBRS) around the world, four most commonly adopted GBRS are selected to compare with the Hong Kong local rating system - Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM Plus). The comparisons will mainly focus on the Energy aspects of the GBRS. Unlike general commercial buildings, hotels consume energy in many different forms. The most significant difference is that hotels provide continuous energy to building users, especially on lighting and air-conditioning. Being one of the major GDP contributor, hotels play an unshirkable role on enhancing the energy saving performance. Sensitivity analysis will be conducted on a hotel building case study illustrate the energy performance of typical hotel, so as to investigate the impacts of each building parameters and building service installation on the overall building energy performance. | en_US |
