Landslides monitoring by advanced InSAR with multiple-band data : a case of Qingjing, Taiwanen_US
A rapid development goes across Qingjing, Taiwan due to the unique natural landscape. However, according to historical studies, the land subsidence of this area was very serious and the landslides of Qingjing were frequently. Therefore, it is vital to evaluate the hazard potential in this mountainous zone. In recent years, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) has been widely applied to this end, especially thanks to the prompt evolution of multi-temporal InSAR (MTInSAR) algorithms. For detecting the detailed subsidence related to the mountains, we use the multi-temporal InSAR (MT-InSAR) technique to extract regional scale subsidence of Qingjing area. Take it into consideration that Qingjing area is a Mountainous area with large area of low coherence meadow and forest, we select the temporarily coherent point InSAR (TCPInSAR) approach for MT-InSAR analysis. Compared to other MTInSAR techniques, TCPInSAR can work well with a small amount of data and is immune to unwrapping errors. The TCPInSAR is a potential approach for detecting land subsidence in low coherence areas as it can identify and analysis coherent points between just two images and can acquire a reliable solution without conventional phase unwrapping. With use of 9 TerraSAR-X (TSX) images in 327995 TCPs acquired from 2009 to 2010 over Qingjing area, the deformation rate could be derived. And the long-term deformation rate ranges roughly from -47.97386 mm/yr to 85.954156 mm/yr. In this research, by analyzing the map of deformation rate, the displacement map of time interval in Qingjing district and time series deformation map, we can find some accumulations of surface deformation. The slope instability information revealed in this study is helpful to deal with the landslide hazards in Qingjing, Taiwan.en_US
