Surface profilometry using optical contouring methoden_US
Structured light projection method has been used to measure the contour of a surface. A structured light is projected onto a surface being measured to produce a modulated fringe pattern. This pattern is captured and analysed using modified Fourier transform analysis technique to determine the height of the surface. Errors of measurement have been evaluated. In developing the measurement method, besides developing a Window-based computer program for the automatic analysis of fringes obtained in the measurement. 1) A method employing a Wollaston prism-polarizer combination has been developed to produce the structured light pattern, and 2) A modified technique has been proposed to retrieve phase of the fringes from the contour map of the surface.en_US
