dcterms.abstractNowadays, more people realize that sewage can also be used in many fields as reclaimed water after advanced treatment. With the aggravation of water resources shortage, reclaimed water, as a potential water resource, has been attracting increasing attention. The research on applications of reclaimed water have been deepening. Among them, wastewater reuse is one of the effective ways to solve the problem of water shortage, of which the key is how to ensure the safety of reclaimed water quality. Through literature investigation, this study reviewed the development processes of the formulation of reclaimed water standards in the United States, Australia, the European Union, China, and the World Health Organization (WHO), systematically summarized the water quality parameters of recycled water for different utilization purposes under the national standards of various countries, and emphatically focused on the comparison and analysis of the existing problems and deficiencies in the current standard system of reclaimed water in China. At the same time, a commercial ultrafiltration membrane was selected to treat secondary effluent from Tai Po Sewage Treatment Works in Hong Kong, and the water quality changes after the membrane filtration were measured, to judge the feasibility of using filtered water for different types of water reuse. Relevant suggestions are put forward in combination with the two parts, with a view to providing help for the development of reclaimed water reuse in Hong Kong in the future.en_US
