Abstract: The rapid development of intermittent energy and the continuous growth of power peak load increase the difficulty of power grid dispatching operation, and put forward new major challenges to power system regulation ability. The air conditioning load of commercial buildings become the main component of summer load peak, which causes the summer load peak to rise continuously. It is not only unfavorable to the stable and safe operation of electric system, but also the convergence of air conditioning service period intensifies the peak and valley difference of power grid load as well as reduces the utilization rate of transmission and distribution equipment, thus causing waste of resources. Air conditioning as a temperature control equipment has a certain energy storage, using the heat preservation and cooling performance of the room can be converted into heat and cold energy for short-term storage. The temperature comfort range acceptable to human body is large, and the sensitivity to the slight change of temperature is weak. Combined with the energy storage characteristics of air conditioning, it can be regarded as a considerable quantity, flexible and great potential demand-side response resource. For the sake of reduce the input of power production and solve the problem of power shortage, the demand side realizes the peak load shifting operation of air conditioning system during the peak period of power. This study focuses on the control of air conditioning, because air conditioning power in the summer office buildings in the larger share of electricity. The peak power consumption of air conditioning caused by high temperature in summer is an important reason for the shortage of power supply in cities. The specific work of this article is as follows: (1) The concept, classification, and benefits of demand response in electricity market are introduced. This paper study the effect of demand response on power market and measures of demand response. Based on the study of parameter adjusting space, the cooling load of in office building is calculated, and the change of cooling load in the office is analyzed under the condition of changing the setting value of indoor temperature. Combined the results of calculation and analysis of air conditioning room cooling load, this paper verifies the existence of air conditioning system demand response adjustment and air conditioning system energy saving operation space, and puts forward the adjustable range of air conditioning cooling load and the realization strategy of demand response to meet the requirements of thermal comfort. Because of the existence of thermal inertia, the building structure and interior furniture after adjusting the air conditioning can release a certain amount of cold to the indoor air and delay the indoor temperature rise. Air conditioning needs to resume operation when room temperature exceeds the set temperature limitation. Building thermal inertia has the effect of stabilizing room temperature. This paper will compare the energy consumption changes under the demand response of four different building envelopes. The results of this study show that air conditioning as a temperature control equipment has a certain energy storage, the goal of reducing peak load effectively can be achieved through reasonable control. Demand response can effectively reduce the power system demand at peak-time. The method of pre-cooling the room in advance is used to reduce electricity consumption during peak load hours, and these four building envelopes have effect on demand response. The research topic has good academic significance and practical value and provided theoretical support for what kind of demand response contract is signed between power department and users.
