Ballistocardiogram measurements using optical fiber sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interferometersen_US
Abnormal human vital signs, including respiration rate (RR) and heartbeat rate (HR), are often accompanied by medical emergencies. Therefore, real-time vital signs monitoring can not only reduce and control some chronic diseases effectively, such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, but also detect abnormalities in time for disease prevention. Respiration and heartbeat signals are regarded as the change of micro-pressure. A long-term non-contact vital signs monitor based on fiber-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is proposed in this thesis, which can be put on the chair to measure RR and HR simultaneously. It is a portable, comfortable and low-cost monitor, and vital signs signals can be detected by sitting on a cushion. Furthermore, since cardiopulmonary coupling (CPC) can be used to analyze and evaluate sleep quality during sleep, CPC values are calculated in the second part based on the electrocardiograph (ECG) signal. The CPC spectrogram is obtained eventually, which can be applied for sleep monitoring. Compared with traditional polysomnography (PSG) monitor, ECG-based CPC analysis reduces the number of electrodes and improves comfort, which provides new ideas for future realization of non-contact CPC analysis based on optical fiber sensors.en_US
