dc.title | Analysis of office building energy performance classification in Hong Kong | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | As one of the typical densely-populated cities in the world, Hong Kong has long been suffering from high electricity consumption in building sector. In order to increase the building energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, buildings with good energy saving potentials should be firstly identified. In this research, an Office Building Energy Performance Classification Model (OBEPCM) was proposed for this purpose. The clustering analysis and discriminant analysis are core algorithms in modelling, of which the output results of cluster analysis would be turned into inputs parameters of discriminant analysis. 452 buildings cases in Hong Kong were collected and pre-processed for establishing and validating the OBEPCM, while other 155 building cases were used for practice in energy saving potential finding. Finally, total 4 building clusters and corresponding standards, as well as 4 discriminant functions were created. Besides, strategies were proposed to improve the energy performance of 90 identified less energy efficient buildings. | en_US |
