dc.title | Mobile intercloud system and applications | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | With the advent of mobile computing and cloud computing, there has been considerable interest to combine these two technologies to develop innovative applications. In this dissertation, by studying/extending the Intercloud Communications Protocol (ICCP), we present a framework and tool for developing innovative mobile Intercloud applications. We study the use of ICCP protocol to support mobile Intercloud applications. By means of the mobile Intercloud system, data can be transferred and processed through the collaboration of clouds as controlled by a mobile terminal. To facilitate the development of mobile Intercloud applications, we have developed a package of App Inventor blocks. Working with ICCP, these graphical programming blocks allow various mobile Intercloud applications to be developed effectively and efficiently. Three innovative applications have been presented to illustrate the benefits of the mobile Intercloud framework. Two experiments have been performed to evaluate the performance of the mobile Intercloud system. Evaluations and performance analyses have been conducted for data transfer operation via mobile Intercloud protocol. The evaluations and results provide valuable insights into the design of smart computing applications in general and mobile Intercloud applications in particular. The experimental results also indicate that the transfer of objects over the mobile Intercloud system depends on various factors under different conditions. | en_US |
