Abstract: Oceans are the origin of every creature of the world. From earliest time to the present day, the oceans never lose catching the attention of human beings. As we can know from the news or science books, ocean is a mysterious exist to us where many kinds of unknown underwater creatures live and many kinds of precious resources stored. Because of the extremely severe environment in the deep ocean, people have to send something into the ocean instead of human beings. Underwater robot has been served human beings for some decades of years. In the recent years, the bio-inspired underwater robots are more and more popular due to the high propulsion efficiency and the character of moving quietly. In this dissertation, a design of bio-inspired underwater robot will be introduced, containing the construction and implement of the structure, the derivation of hydrodynamic force equation to find the thrust force during the propulsion period, the kinematic model establishment and analysis of kinetics and dynamics.
