Abstract: In this project, a systematic network management system will be designed, developed and implemented to provide centralized monitoring and configuration management for a typical international telecommunication network. It implements the correlation function on the alarm information to reduce the number of alarm messages. Too many alarm messages might cause confusion to the operators in identifying the cause of problem. With this system, the operator can concentrate on the actual fault. The time for fault identification and rectification can be reduced. A centralized and Graphic User Interface system will be provided for integrated management. In addition, the management functions will adopt the TMN model as the infrastructure.
