dcterms.abstractThe magnetic gear is useful in increasing the torque density in a contactless way. Compared with the traditional mechanical gear, magnetic gear is good for having higher efficiency, less maintenance effort, less acoustic noise. Due to the electromagnetic design of the magnetic gear, it can be embedded in the electric machine in a much more compact way. It is quite promising to investigate this magnetic gear for meeting the ever increasing demand of higher torque density application.en_US
dcterms.abstractMost of the contemporary magnetic gear design without electromagnetics coil mimics the existing mechanical gear design. Among the latest mechanical gear design, the mechanical harmonic gear can provide the highest gear ratio in a compact dimension. However, there was not too many detail investigation has been made about the magnetic harmonic gear.en_US
