Abstract: The urban park is the main place for people to carry out leisure activities. It will attract surrounding people to walk inside, and will also affect people's selection of daily travel mode. Accessibility is an important factor affecting personal travel mode, and it is also an indicator to evaluate whether urban parks can be easily accessed. The study attempts to identify the relationship between the accessibility of urban parks and the walking behaviour of surrounding people. The objectives of the study are to analyse the characteristics of walking behaviour of people in different urban areas and the level of park accessibility. It also aims to explore the impact of park accessibility on the walking behaviour of different types of population, such as permanent residents and non-resident people, in the new and old urban areas. The study takes Xicheng and Liangxiang of Beijing as the study area. The questionnaire method is used to collect the daily walking behaviour data and gather feedback on the subjective perception of park accessibility. The network analysis method is used to analyse the spatial accessibility of parks. Correlation analysis and regression analysis are used to evaluate the impact between park accessibility and walking behaviour. The results illustrate that the transportation walking frequency of people in Xicheng is higher, while the recreational walking level of people in Liangxiang is higher. In terms of spatial accessibility, the park in Xicheng is better than the park in Liangxiang. People in Xicheng have a better perception of the dimension of park spatial location, while people in Liangxiang have a better perception of the dimension of personal satisfaction. Through correlation analysis and regression analysis, it is found that the effect of perceived accessibility on walking behaviour is more significant than that of spatial accessibility. Different dimensions of perceived accessibility have different effects on walking behaviour; The spatial accessibility of the park has a significant impact on the walking behaviour of retirees and has little impact on the walking behaviour of other groups. The research results can help planners optimize the allocation of park green space resources in different urban development areas.
