| Abstract: | Village-in-city are divided into urban areas according to their spatial attributes. In terms of social attributes, village-in-city also have an urban-rural dual system. With the rapid development of the urban economy and the continuous influx of migrant workers, many illegally expanded houses have been added to the original villages. The overloaded carrying capacity of villages in urban space leads to many problems in village-in-city. (1) The public activity space of residents is reduced. (2) The ancestral hall, which carries family gatherings, banquets and ceremonies, is no longer the core of the village space. The cultural space of the village clan is lost, neglected and abandoned. Taking Shipai village as an example, this dissertation aims to design a village-in-city renewal mechanism dominated by ancestral hall space, which can (1) accurately meet the needs of space users. (2) Cognition of ancestral hall culture (3) continues the village's local ancestral hall culture in the city. In order to achieve this goal, the main task is to understand the use of ancestral hall space (including other public spaces) in village-in-city in Guangzhou through field surveys, interviews and questionnaires and systematically identify the functional space needs of urban village residents, which promotes the design process. Through literature review and the mechanism of urban catalyst theory and the renewal cases of village-in-city in China and other countries, this dissertation extracts relevant experience. The feasibility and renewal design of the urban catalyst method in village-in-city ' renewal and reconstruction are discussed. On this basis, this paper puts forward the leading elements with ancestral halls as the catalyst, discusses the ways to expand rural public cultural space by activating and using traditional ancestral halls, and puts forward the renewal method of triggering village-in-city from bottom to top, to gradually awaken the regional characteristics of village-in-city dominated by ancestral halls. Finally, this dissertation reflects on the Enlightenment of the cultural heritage of ancestral halls in village-in-city in Guangzhou to provide some valuable references for the follow-up research and practice. |
