Abstract: This research explores the application of sensing technology in construction site safety management in Hong Kong. A case study and questionnaire survey were conducted to investigate the current use and effectiveness of sensing technology in construction sites. The results show that sensing technology is widely used and positively evaluated, but its sensitivity and accuracy need to be improved. Based on the survey results and industry requirements, three key areas for improvement are identified: sensing devices, network, and integrated platform.
According to the above three aspects, combined with related research, this paper gives the corresponding optimization scheme. Overall, the unpredictability of worker actions remains a significant safety risk, making it essential to adopt robotics solutions whenever possible.
