In order to enhance energy efficiency, the government has introduced sustainable building standards, most recently encouraging the use of innovative technologies to promote sustainability. One of the main incentives was the promotion of green building certification schemes, such as the BEAM Plus and LEED, which has incentivized environmentally friendly buildings through recognition.
