A holistic traffic noise assessment in urban areas of Hong Kongen_US
Urban noise problems, especially those associated with traffic, are prevalent in densely populated urban areas such as Hong Kong. This study aims to conduct a traffic noise assessment in heavily built-up areas of Hong Kong, considering both the acoustic characteristics and psychoacoustic aspects of noise perception. This approach, integrating psychoacoustic considerations, will provide valuable insights into the impact of traffic noise on human perception and well-being. The findings can be useful for urban planning, policy-making, and the implementation of effective noise mitigation strategies, ultimately improving the quality of life in high-density urban areas of Hong Kong.en_US
