dc.title | Development of a CO2 based demand control and engergy [sic] recovery ventilation strategy in office buildings | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | CO2 data are commonly used to identity and describe indoor air quality in office buildings. Outside air ventilation rates are often calculated using a mathematical equation contained in appendix D of ASHRAE Standard 62 - 1989, "Rationale for Minimum Physiological Requirements for Respiration Air Based on CO2 Concentration. " The equation is based on a number of assumptions regarding the interior space configuration, airflow and leakage, CO2 generation rates and occupant density. Indoor air quality is important to both the personal health and productivity of building occupants. In order to obtain a better model of quality of the indoor air and increasing the remedial works flexibility and feasibility. Three control strategies, CO2 concentration-based ventilation, relative humidity control and energy recovery system, are examined for obtaining a energy profile. The first, which is intended to compare the change of percentage of energy consumed and worked out an indicator for design criterion of renovation project. The last, an optimal control strategy is investigated to compromise a dispute of thermal comfort, achievement of acceptable indoor air quality and energy conservation without a huge impact to the existing air-conditioning system. | en_US |
