| Abstract: | In this thesis, the current issue in Hong Kong for improving the energy use in commercial building would be discussed. The suggestion to improve the current ordinance would be discussed. Next, the information about the building service equipment will be collected from existing sources, and the power consumption for their normal operating status will be analyzed. Then, the power consumption will be estimated for an imaginary commercial building based on a typical commercial building in Hong Kong. Later, software will be used to simulate the power consumption for both the existing building services equipment and new technological building services equipment. Plant Coefficient of Performance would be added to analysis the power consumption of different system. The differences will be compared, and advice will be provided to building designers for energy improvements. |
